Time Out

Hello there! It's time for another challenge at Time Out.  For this week our challenge is to to be inspired by words.  Our word inspiration is:

if music be the food of love, play on

For my card, I knew the sentiment from the PaperTrey Ink set, Live Music would be perfect.  I added a touch of embossing to the background panel and finished it off with the die cut notes from CAS-ual Fridays. This card could easily go to a number of my immediate family members.

We love seeing how you are inspired by the challenge at Time Out.  Be sure to pop on over and check out the design team's creations and play along with us.   We also have a fabulous Guest Designer:  Rosemary.  Be sure to pop on over to her blog too!  You will not be disappointed!

Thanks So Much

Happy Wednesday my friends.  I keep thinking we're a day ahead this week (and we're not) it feels like it is moving slowly.  I'm looking forward to a three day weekend!  Bobby is the fabulous Muse this week. Her fun, retro feeling card below is so cool. I love the movement the flourishes create on the card.  I've been itching to use my Uniko set and thought that the leaf images would emulate the movement that Bobby created on her card.  I was inspired by the oranges and yellows as well.   I love a clean, crisp card :)!

I'm also linking this up to CAS(e) this Sketch!

Ardyth Inspired Anniversary Cards

Pat's boss messaged me on Facebook over the weekend and asked me if I'd make a card for his wife. It's their 25th wedding anniversary this weekend.  He's an architect so I thought he'd like something a bit more graphic for Ann versus flowery.  I made two's hoping he likes one of them. They both have a sentiment in the inside.  Normally the inside of my cards are blank, but I added sentiments inside since that's what he'd get if he went to the store :)

Also thinking graphically, I went to Ardyth's blog and pinterest board to be inspired. This card and this card were the two that inspired me most.   Have a favorite of the two cards?

Welcome Baby

Marion Vagg has the most gorgeous card over at Muse this week.  I am in love with the spectrum of colors and the touch of shimmer.  Beyond beautiful in every last detail.  I was trying to pick the colors out of my stash of card stock, but ended up die cutting the strips from three colors as I didn't have as close a match to Marion's card as I would have liked. At first thought this was going to be a birthday card for the boys to use for a friend but it quickly turned to a baby card...not sure how that happened.

Fussing with my new camera to get the pictures a bit whiter...still have to mess around bit so I'm not thrilled with picture quality for the last few weeks but it will get there eventually!

Stamp-a-Faire Time After Time Challenge: Thanks for Everything

Happy Sunday my friends.  I'm popping in with a card to share for the SAF:  Time After Time Challenge.  I think this will be the only challenge I'll have time to play along with for this year's SAF.  Such a fun challenge this is to look back at a card you made previously and redo it.  I started my blog five years ago and there is a lot of ribbon on my cards.  I still love ribbon, but am a bigger fan of bows than the knot on the card shown below.  And the poor buttons all by themselves.  I'm sure in another five years I'll look back at the card I created today and see other ways to change it, but for today I'm pleased with it.  I thought it would also be fun to show how the colors were chosen.  The colors were from one of Dawn McVey's Raspberry Suite Challenge.  How many of you played along with one of those?  I loved them! to get ready for the week.  Hope you all are finding lots of time to craft.

Happy Birthday Collin!

Popping in to wish my Collin a fabulous 11th birthday today!  He still seems very little to me, but I'm sure in just a couple of years he'll be standing next to my as Jonathon does and surpassing me in height. This little man has a love of live. His birthday present lists describes him:
  • a pogo stick (he's active...riding his bike, scooter, skateboarding and he has massive cuts on his knee right now from a crash)
  • a fishing net (he loves to be outdoors and his happy to sit and fish for hours on end.  Pat told him he'd take him night fishing and his face lit up)
  • an xbox game (yep...he loves Minecraft like the best of them)
  • a root beer making kit (he loves to cook...he can make a mean omelette...and he's never too far from a lemonade or slushy stand at the end of our drive.  I'm sure root beer will be added next.)
He can be loud when he is in a very comfortable situation, but most often his is on the shy side.  His eyes do his talking a bit more than his mouth.  Love seeing those eyes light up and a sweet little smile escape accompanied by a blush. Love my little man tons. Happy 11th birthday beautiful boy.

Above is his card (neon green is his favorite color) and below are a few pictures from his birthday.  His buddies Jake and Logan came over and we went to David Busters for games.  You can see the smile on his face when he got the root beer maker.  Collin wanted cupcakes (store bought were just fine...) but we forgot candles so we turned out the lights and used the grill lighter. Have to improvise!
And I had to share this picture below.  I think we could do a before and after as I could see this same picture being taken in college.  Thankfully water are the only drinks being used so far!  The boys used their tickets at David Busters to pick them out!

Festive Friday Reminder: Peace on Earth

Happy Friday. This card may look very similar to my card from last week, but it has a slightly different twist. Today's card was made with a new Memory Box tree die that I have. I used the same patterned paper from last week. I love that my Christmas cards are starting to get done...still lots to do, but clean, one layer cards are my favorite for easy mailing!

Tonight we'll be having Collin's birthday party with a few of his friends at David Buster's.  He can't wait!  He turns the big 11 tomorrow!  Have any fun plans on your calendar for the weekend?
