Time Out: Thanks

I'm back today with a reminder card for the current challenge over at Time Out.  I love the current challenge of being inspired by fall:  Autumn - the years last, loveliest smile.  I just picked up these stitched Lawn Fawn leaves.  Absolutely love them and was so anxious to use them!  I can always use extra thank you notes in my stash of cards.

Be sure to pop on over to Time Out to play along with us!

With Sympathy {and around our house}

Popping in today with a super CAS card. Friends of ours from our community lost their son last week due to muscular dystrophy. Their son, Ryan, will forever have a special place in our heart.  Despite his illness, he always had a smile and a zest for life.  Ryan's younger brother, Jack, played baseball for many years with our Ryan.  Pat loved to chat with Ryan about movie lines and they would go back and forth to see who could get the other one with a movie line they where they couldn't remember the movie title. This card has been put in the mail with lots of love and beautiful memories in our hearts.

On a much lighter note....Around our house, the boys are in the swing of school after being back in since mid August. Collin made show choir, Jonathon will be playing bass guitar for the middle school group and Ryan will be competing for his last time.  Marcel also is getting into the musical swing of things by participating in a mallet madness group for 4th graders.  So...lots of music happening at our house.  Collin was so cute when he tried out for show choir. He's pretty shy so he wouldn't tell any of us what he was singing for the try out. He texted me after he was done, "It was hard to get up there, but I just let it out."  So proud of him that he had the courage to try out and I really can't wait to see him perform.

Pat has been busy too...he closes on the house that he flipped this week and is now finishing a basement for our friend. In his spare time (that is a joke!), he has been painting, replacing toilets and updating our basement.  I'm certainly thankful to have a very handy hubby! I hope you are all well. I'd love to here what's going on around your house.

May Your Christmas Be Merry & Bright {and Ryan's Senior Pics!}

Hi there, popping in with yes (my third Christmas card in a row) this week. This card is for the awesome sketch over at CAS(e) this Sketch.  At first, I was going to use poinsettia stamps for this sketch, but changed my mind once I saw this PaperTrey Ink set in my stash. In real life, this card has a bunch of shimmer from covering it with clear Wink of Stella, but it's not showing in my photo.  Oh well.

Since I'm here, I wanted to share Ryan's senior pictures. There are more than these, but these are my four favorite.  His photographer did a fabulous job capturing his personality. I really can't believe he is a senior. Love him to pieces.

You Make My Heart Melt {and I met Tracey!)

This weekend, I was on a Christmas card making role.  I loved the sweet little snowman from Marilyn's card at Muse:  Christmas Visions. For my card, I used a very CAS PaperSmooches snowman and then colored just a touch with my Zig markers.  Very simple, but one more done for the Christmas card stash!  I'm also entering this over at Virginia's View All Things Colored Challenge.

Yesterday, I was so thrilled that Tracey and I got to meet in real life!  She is as much of a sweetheart in person as she is in blog land and we hit it off like we had been friends forever.  Thankfully, it was a gorgeous day out and we sat outside and chatted over lunch in my little town of Loveland.  I wish we had longer, but am so thankful for the time we had together.  Next time, we are most definitely going to need more time together...and to get our hubbies together too. When James dropped Tracey off, I think the guys could have talked for hours too.  I feel so blessed to meet such wonderful friends through blogging.

Merry Christmas

Oh my goodness.  Can I tell you how happy I am to be posting two days in a row?  It had been three weeks...yes...three weeks....since I had been in my craft room. That is WAY too long for me to be away from this fabulous hobby that helps me relax like nothing else.  I love, love, love to create.  So, I was super happy to have time yesterday.  I have several cards to share over the next week.

This wasn't the first card that I made yesterday, but I need to get it posted before the fun rainbow challenge ends over at Merry Monday! You'll see several more Christmas cards over the next few days.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  I apologize for my visits being a bit sporadic lately.

Happy Birthday Marcel!

 Popping in quickly before our family comes over to wish Marcel the happiest of birthdays.  No more single digits in our house!  He's celebrating the big 10 today!  Wish I could share with you how much this little guy (who really isn't that little but will always be my baby) lights up our life.  He always has a smile on his face, is hilarious (and doesn't quite realize it yet) and has a very kind loving soul. I kept his card simple....the smiley faces are in his favorite color. to get ready for our family coming over.

PS The card is being entered over at the One Layer Simplicity Challenge and Happy World Card Making Day!
