For the Happy Couple

Happy Friday my friends!  I'm really looking forward to the three day weekend. We have a few graduation parties to go to on Sunday and am I throwing a wedding shower tomorrow afternoon. So, I was very lucky to have already had this card made and it fit perfectly with the challenge over at CASology. The wedding colors are teal and navy...ignore that my stamping could be significantly straighter! I should have used my Misti.

I thought I'd share this note Collin left for his third grade teacher yesterday.  Absolutely melted my heart.  He is finishing up 5th grade but man oh man did his third grade teacher rank on his all time favorite list.  She now teaches sixth grade so we are hoping he gets her again next year. This note sums Collin up...multiple pens...looks like there is dirt or something all over the page...he loves writing in cursive but added an extra ma to his name.  Don't worry he knows how to spell it. He melts my heart.  And I love how he signed as her favorite student. She got a big kick out of it and sent it to me.

Fusion: Hats Off Grad

Hello!  It's time for a Fusion Challenge.  I'm in serious graduation card making mode over here!  We have a lot of graduation parties this weekend and the next several weekends so be on the lookout for lots of CAS cards!  For this week's Fusion Challenge I went with the sketch and turned it to be vertical.  Love how easily this card came together.

I hope you're inspired by the gorgeous flowers in the photo or the ultra CAS sketch.  We love seeing your cards in the gallery!  Be sure to come play along!

PROCEDURES:
1. Play with just the sketch challenge.
2. Play with just the inspiration photo challenge.
3. Or you can create FUSION by combining BOTH challenges into one card.
4. Use the challenge graphic and link back to Fusion in your post.
5. Please read the other considerations on the Our Rules Page before playing along.

Dream Big

Time to move into serious graduation card making!  I love the in laid dies and the grey/white combination in the MUSE inspiration this week.  I am also inspired by this gorgeous card from Maureen. The 2015 was cut out with my Cricut in both white and grey and finished off with a Verve sentiment and a pop of orange as a nod to our school colors of orange and black.  I'll be back tomorrow with another graduation card!

Deepest Sympathy

Hello, popping in quickly with a sympathy card for no particular challenge.  I saw someone (ETA:  it was Leigh who inspired me to make this card!) make a card very similar to this with a gold base. I apologize that I can't remember where but I loved the end result.  A co-worker of mine lost her husband suddenly to a heart attack and I was in need of a card for her. I thought the combination of pastels and gold would be soothing to her. Tragic to lose your spouse in their early 50s.

Today would have been my dad's 77th birthday. It's so hard to believe that he has been gone for over 10 years now.  Thankfully he is still in my heart and with me every day.  I certainly miss him tons.

Happy Everything {and Marcel's First Communion}

Happy Monday my friends. Is it bad that I'm looking forward to the upcoming three day Memorial Day weekend?  Well, I am!  Hopefully the weather will be nice and we'l be able to sit outside and relax for most of it!  Lately my card making has been just in time card making.  This card was made on Saturday night right as we walked out the door to celebrate a friend's birthday.  My ink blending could have been smoother but I love the vibrant colors and the quick inspiration from the current CAS(E) this Sketch.

Yesterday we celebrated Marcel's First Communion. He was absolutely adorable, "I feel like a lawyer in this suit."  When I told him two of his uncles are lawyers he was very surprised, "They are?!"  Not sure what he thinks of lawyers but he was shocked that his Uncle Tim and Sean were lawyers. It was a beautiful day celebrating with our family. Here are a few pics (I'll have more later when I get caught up with Project Life!).  The sun was in his eyes for these sweet pictures!

Happy Birthday Sandie!

I have an extra special post today for my dear cousin, Sandie, of London Days!  The fabulous Kylie of Addicted to Stamps is hosting a birthday party for Sandie. Sandie has a zest for life and I am so thankful for her. We are blessed to not only be cousins but to be absolutely dear friends.  Love her to bits and hope that she is being spoiled rotten on her birthday!

When making her card, I new it had to be CAS with her favorite color purple. My first attempt is below and I just didn't like it...too many grungy stamps so I had a second go and I think Sandie will love the one above. Hopefully the post across the pond made it in time!

Be sure to pop on over to Sandie's blog and leave her some birthday love!

Big Time Thanks

As the end of the school year approaches, it's the perfect time to work on thank you notes for the coaches and teachers that support our kids. Last week, my two oldest had their show choir banquet.  We collected money for gifts for them and we wanted two musical cards to go with them (the first one I shared yesterday).  For this card, I used the Musical Score die.  It was perfect to pair up with orange and black card stock:  our school colors.

The second card (shared yesterday too) I went a bit more grunge with the Rock Guitar die.

Don't you love when you can make cards with a specific person in mind?  It makes the cards all the more special!

Entering this over in the CASology challenge too!
