Christmas Blessings

Happy Wednesday my friends.  I love the layout of the Cutting Edge card this week and the contrast of the black with the bright pops of color. I have been itching to use my new PaperSmooches dies and stamps so this was the perfect challenge.  I used my distress inks to ink up white card stock before die cutting.  Love how these inks blend together so well.

Hope you are all having a great week....not sure how we made it to the first of October already.

Before you go, here's a funny Marcel story for you:

Marcel: "Hey daddy, I know what I want for my birthday.  A pina colada."
Pat:  "What?"
Marcel:  "A pina colada!"
Pat:  "Oh you mean a pinata?"
Marcel:  "Yes exactly!"

We Wish You a Merry Christmas

When I saw the sketch this week at CAS(E) this Sketch, I knew immediately what I wanted to do.  I die cut two of the vented PaperSmooches dies and placed them on my card base.  I then finished up the card with the sentiment strip as well as thePaperSmooches poinsettia dies.  The final touch were some gems.  Nothing like a crisp pop of color against black.

Tomorrow I'll be back with another PaperSmooches Christmas card.  Happy last day of September.  This week we'll be going to a college planning meeting for Ryan and a First Communion class for Marcel. Time is flying by these days.  It's hard to believe that in less than two years we'll be sending Ryan to college. I'm sure in nine years time I'll be saying the same thing about Marcel leaving for college.

Coffee & Friends Warm the Heart

Here's hoping your week gets off to a great start. I'm starting the week off by hopping along in the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.  Technically, I'm a Diet Coke lover not a coffee lover (in fact I never drink coffee) but I couldn't resist playing with my stamps.  I've used stamps from Verve and Reverse Confetti to play along today. Looking forward to seeing what all the other blog hoppers have today.

Many thanks to all the fabulous sponsors and organizers of the blog hop

PaperSmooches: Designer Drafts

Hello there and welcome to this week's PaperSmooches Sparks challenge.
Isn't this a fun sketch?  I moved the sentiment slightly but had fun cutting some patterned paper to highlight the graphic feel of the sketch.  Initially I thought I might mask off the sections and ink them.  You could go a number of ways!  This card is going to my dear friend, Sandy, whose birthday I am months late giving her this card...better late than never!  I used the Reflections and Word Salad set for my card.

Please be sure to stop by the other design team members blogs to check out their fabulous creations.

And of course, we'd love to see you play along. You'll have until Saturday at 11:59 PST to join along.   Hop on over to the PaperSmooches Sparks blog to play along with us!

Festive Friday: Merry Christmas

Happy Friday my friends. We're back with another Festive Friday challenge. This week I am loving all the woodgrain inspration in the photo.  I did opt to go with a lighter wood grain image. The neutral woodgrain really makes the green and red pop off the page.  At my crafting get away last week, I was able to use Laurie Willison's PTI dies.  I think these will make their way into my cart sooner rather than later.  To finish off the card, I added a touch of twine.

I hope you're inspired to come play with us at Festive Friday!

Fusion: You Brighten My Day

What a fun photo inspiration we have along with our sketch this week at Fusion!  I loved those sunflowers.  One of the fun things about my crafty weekend away was the ability for us to share our goodies with one another. I used a lot of the dies/stamps that Nichol Magouirk brought.  This card features these items! A big thanks to Nichol and all the ladies on our craft get away that shared their supplies with us.

PROCEDURES:
1. Play with just the sketch challenge.
2. Play with just the inspiration photo challenge.
3. Or you can create FUSION by combining BOTH challenges into one card.
4. Use the challenge graphic and link back to Fusion in your post.
5. Please read the other considerations on the Our Rules Page before playing along.

Pop on over to the blog to check out the fabulous cards from the design team!

Time Out: Celebrate

Hello there! It's time for another challenge at Time Out.

Stamping with optional twist:  apples.  I decided not to go with the optional twist this time...but might next week. I went with a super CAS card stamping off as I made the medallion out of a single leaf stamp.    We won't talk about how many times I stamped this before I got it right without any smudges...I then proceeded to not center the sentiment...so it was covered up by the black sentiment with white embossing!  The best laid plans...

We love seeing how you are inspired by the challenge at Time Out.  Be sure to pop on over and check out the design team's creations and play along with us.  You will not be disappointed!
